I just wanted to take a moment and give a shout out to the “If Gathering” that took place this weekend in Austin, Texas. What IF this Valentine’s Day you took the time to refocus on your relationships? Our culture sets this day aside to honor your “one true love”, which is awesome….but what if we took the time to honor the author of LOVE? What if we took the time to refocus on God? I believe that the closer you draw to God the better you can love, not only your “one true love” but you can learn how to truly love your neighbor, your friends, your enemies, strangers, the poor, the downtrodden. In Chapter 2 of the book of Ephesians, the apostle Paul talks about how we were once far away from God, but we have now been brought near to Him through the blood of Christ. Christ himself brings peace and hope to our lives. Christ, who is LOVE, is the perfect example of LOVE and His love is perfect.

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

This Valentine’s Day let’s focus on the “one TRUE LOVE” who is the giver of love. Take some time to listen to some of the speakers fro the If Gathering. You will be encouraged, inspired, challenged and empowered to LOVE!!!!!

IF we are following Jesus, we are following love. IF we are following Jesus, we are learning about how to offer love to others. IF we are following Jesus, we can experience TRUE love. We can become LOVE toward others and for others as we become like Christ….
