Xmas Tree Bread Recipe-Winner Announced-Shopify

As promised, here is the Xmas Tree Bread recipe….

Ingredients

1 box Pillsbury Hot Roll Mix
1 egg
¼ cup sugar
⅓ cup flour
3/4 cup additional flour for kneading
½ cup melted butter
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 tablespoon cinnamon
½ cup powdered sugar
⅛ cup milk
colorful sprinkles
green and red candied cherries

Make Hot Roll Mix according to directions on box adding ¼  cup sugar, ⅓ cup flour and 1 egg. Mix until smooth dough forms kneading in the extra ¾ cups flour as needed to form a soft but NOT sticky ball of dough.

Place in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise until double in size. Punch down and divide dough into 2 pieces. Roll each piece into a large triangle and place on a large cookie sheet and spread center triangle with melted butter.

Mix brown sugar, walnuts and cinnamon. Sprinkle half of nut mixture on each center of large triangle.

Fold sides of triangle into center and seal the seam. Your dough should look like a tall Christmas tree.

Use a small piece of dough to form a trunk for the tree. Snip the sides with kitchen scissors to make branches and open each snip slightly. 

Let rise. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Shen done, brush with glaze made of powdered sugar and milk. Sprinkle colorful sprinkles down center of tree and decorate branches with red and green cherries cut in half. You can make ahead and freeze. Warm for Christmas morning in a 250 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.
