The Dolphin That Answered Our Prayers!

Do you ever feel like God doesn’t care about the little things you ask Him for?

Well, I have a story to show that He does! This past week, I met my mom and sister, Bethany, in Naples. We stayed at some of our longest family friends’ beach house! The mom of this family [one of my second moms 🙂 ], Karen, met us there as well!

When she arrived, she briefly told us that they would frequently see dolphins on their trips to Naples. We couldn’t believe it and hoped that we could see some on our quick vacation. The next day came quickly and I had pretty much forgotten about the dolphins. We went on a long beach walk and then ventured toward the bay. We decided to sit on top of the wall surrounding the bay, what I thought was to just talk and relax a bit from our walk. About 20 minutes later, Karen mentioned the dolphins, at which time I realized that was the reason we were actually sitting looking into the water. She then prayed, “God, please let us see the dolphins!” No more than 1 second later, WE SAW A DOLPHIN! Then, in the span of about 10 minutes, we must have seen about 4 or 5 more! It was the most amazing thing! Now, seeing the dolphins was pretty special, however, that it was an answer to prayer, just made it that much more spectacular!

This may seem a little silly to you. However, I believe that God does care about the little things we desire. His Word tells us that we should ask for what we want and if it aligns with His will and we have faith, He will bless us with that! Getting to see the dolphins was such a great reminder of God’s love for us! He knew how badly we wanted to see the dolphins, but He was just waiting for us to ask Him!
