Thankfulness Craft

November. A month to remember all that we are thankful for. A month to think about how blessed we all are. However, it is very easy to get wrapped up in our packed schedules and busy lives. Then, all of a sudden it is Thanksgiving Day! We realize that the entire month has almost passed us by and we have rarely thought about the things that we are thankful for. I have a very EASY craft to help you think of one thing a day for the month of November that you are thankful for! Although simple, it could really have a positive impact on your life and your family’s lives each November that you haven’t ever experienced before! Not only is this a craft that your kids can really participate in, but it is also a great activity to do with your family each morning or night, to impress upon your kids the importance of thankfulness and show how having a mindset of gratefulness can really transform their lives!

Supplies:

Pen or Pencil

Construction Paper (Fall colors, if preferred)

Scissors

Tape

Stencils (Optional, can be done by hand)

Markers

Empty space on a wall or cabinet

1. Choose a phrase of Thankfulness: GIVE THANKS, BE THANKFUL, I AM THANKFUL FOR…, etc. Use your stencils to trace your phrase onto construction paper. Be sure to flip the stencils (so the letter is backwards– the back of it is facing up) in case your hand slips when tracing, and that also allows you to not have to cut directly on the pen line.

2. Find an empty wall or cabinet in your house. Tape up your phrase. I used a blank door of one of our closets.

3. Now is the fun part! You can be as creative as you want. I used fall colored construction paper, stenciled numbers and then my husband and I write one thing we are thankful for each day! We use different color markers to see who’s thankfulness is who’s 🙂 This will be a fun way to see all the things we are thankful for all month long!

You can also do this whole craft on a poster board that you pull out for your thankfulness-family time each morning or night to add to it if you do not have an empty space in your home! I hope this craft brings your family closer together and is a blessing for you to think about how much you are thankful for all month!

What are you thankful for? What crafts do you love to do that makes you think about what you are thankful for?
