The “I’m Never Hungry For Dinner” Kind of Salsa
Chips and salsa… weakness. A good salsa is the perfect way to start a meal. But some of the meals just want to end with chips and salsa, because I just can’t stop eating them. Chips just become a vehicle at that point to get more of the amazing salsa. So chip after chip, it seems I can never get enough. …

As I’m sure you can tell from my posts, I am all about simple. I have two little ones under two, which often means too much to do and too little time. I am always looking for ways to simplify my tasks. I am going to share a really simple, no-brainer tip that helped me feel confident about taking care of my house:
I schedule my cleaning.…

Medical school is a long process. The first two years are Basic Science studies (two years of sitting in the classroom, learning a lot of long hard words that I can’t even pronounce- Good thing I’m not the one trying to become a doctor HA!). The next two years are Clinical Years or Rotations- the fun hands-on experiences that help you figure out what kind of doctor you want to be. Then, there is Residency, anywhere from two to six years (depending on your practice and specialty) when you are a doctor, but not really. After residency, you may do a Fellowship, which is more training but in a sub-specialty for one to three years. Eventually, you actually become a doctor! …
Read MoreNever Were There Such Devoted Sisters…
Last weekend, it was our sister, Bethany, and newest brother-in-law’s first anniversary, as some of you may have seen from our newsletter or because you were at the wedding one year ago. In honor of that, I thought I would write my post on something that my sisters, Jess and Rach, and I did at the wedding, and in the process you can get to know us a little better. We were all co-matrons of honor for Bethany, so as tradition would have it, we had the responsibility of the Matron of Honor Speech! We figured that we needed to go out with a bang for the last Weisser getting married off…And we definitely did!
A few things about us that you may or may not know:…
Read MoreWindows
Last January I had ample opportunity to contemplate windows since we had new windows installed everywhere in our house.
A “window of opportunity” for me to be still, snuggle under a blanket and try to stay warm and think. There are windows in our homes, in our schools, in our places of employment. We use windows to look OUT into the world. …

This week I found a yummy looking recipe for “Chicken Tortilla Roll-ups and Avocado Crema” on Pinterest from “The Weekend Gourmet.”
You can find the original recipe here.
The heart of the recipe is the creamy Greek yogurt. I personally do not like yogurt, so I tried to think of an alternative that could keep the consistency and flavor of yogurt. I decided to try the recipe with hummus.

My first anniversary was this past Sunday, so I thought it would be fitting to talk about a craft that I did for my husband. I can’t believe I have already been married a year. …

“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalms 37:4
Delight is defined as giving or having a high degree of pleasure, enjoyment or satisfaction. We are God’s delight and He wants us to delight in Him.
Children are a gift from the Lord. We know this to be true, although while we are raising them we wonder sometimes. The day to day rigors of parenting often times impair our vision and impede our ability to “delight in our children”. …

The expression, “Home is where the heart is “has not felt so tangible in a long time. When my husband and I arrived in Grenada at the beginning of August, we were both pleased to see how our daughter and son-in-law had adjusted to their island lifestyle. As we met many of their friends and participated in many aspects of their weekly routine, we both realized this has truly become their new home. Although they do not get to spend very much time together because of the demands of medical school, they are facing each day with a good attitude. They have made a wonderful life for themselves here and although it is a temporary stop on their new journey of marriage, they have bonded and are making memories here that will knit their hearts together in a special way forever.

This last Friday, I led my first women’s Bible study! We are doing a study called Living Beyond Yourself by Beth Moore! If you have never done a Beth Moore study, I highly recommend it! She is one passionate lady ready to kick your butt into gear to have your life transformed through God’s Word! For our first meeting, we got to know each other a little better since there were first-timers to the island, returners of the group from last year, and students joining the group for the first time!We watched the introductory session video that broke down the foundation of our study- Living Beyond Yourself. There were so many great points, but I am going to highlight some of my favorites that Beth taught us.…
