November. A month to remember all that we are thankful for. A month to think about how blessed we all are. However, it is very easy to get wrapped up in our packed schedules and busy lives. Then, all of a sudden it is Thanksgiving Day! We realize that the entire month has almost passed us by and we have rarely thought about the things that we are thankful for. I have a very EASY craft to help you think of one thing a day for the month of November that you are thankful for! Although simple, it could really have a positive impact on your life and your family’s lives each November that you haven’t ever experienced before! Not only is this a craft that your kids can really participate in, but it is also a great activity to do with your family each morning or night, to impress upon your kids the importance of thankfulness and show how having a mindset of gratefulness can really transform their lives!…

I am not sure why women ever stopped having social gatherings where they worked together to support one another and carry out communal tasks like canning, baking, knitting, sewing or quilting. Why did we allow these old quilting bee type of customs to die out? Some might think that it was caused by the invention of our modern appliances and household conveniences. Maybe it is a result of fragmented families? Maybe we bought the idea of feminist movement to get out of the house and demand our equal rights in the workplace.…
Read MoreFun with DIY Costumes
This Halloween I decided on some fun Do-It-Yourself (DIY) costumes for my family. I like that the DIY approach can offer a chance to tailor the costumes to your liking, and depending on the route you go can also save some money. I chose ease over cost this year with my two littles and very limited crafting time. However, I feel like I made good purchases because most costumes are made on clothes that can be re-worn!
I am not an expert at crafts or sewing, so this post is more about encouraging you to go for it when it comes to DIY projects. Especially with a fun holiday like Halloween!
We dressed up as Elmo’s World characters: Elmo, Dorothy the Goldfish, Mr. Noodle, and Super Grover…

Harvest festivals, fall leaves changing colors, making pumpkin bread and pumpkin cookies, making big hot pots of soup, canning apple butter with friends, long walks, jumping in piles of freshly fallen leaves….are many of my favorite things about Autumn.…

It’s that time of year. Fall smells are filling the air, rain is beginning to fall, and holidays are just around the corner. Baked goods are pouring out of ovens, tummies are filling up with warm hearty good food, and warm drinks are warming up those cold nights. But there is still always room for dessert. And why make a traditional pumpkin pie when you can switch it up and make a pumpkin pie cake. …

Halloween is a BIG DEAL for families that have young children. My husband and I did quite a bit of research when our kids were young, about the significance of Halloween and what the holiday actually represents. We made a decision at that time that we were going to look for ways to celebrate the holiday that were more God honoring. …

I love pictures. I love how they can grasp memories and take you back to that place every time you look at the photographs. One of my favorite crafts used to be scrapbooking- creating pages and books to relive certain events or times of my life and to have for a lifetime to look back on and remember such pivotal years of my life! …

Now, I know what you are thinking just from reading the title! “It’s not even Halloween yet and you are already writing a post about CHRISTMAS?!?” However, I have a legitimate point to my timing of this post 🙂 Many sites and stores are giving major discounts for being on top of your Christmas cards and getting them done early! But, I have found that a lot of people are unaware of how many options you really have for personalized photo Christmas cards. The most common place that I know of is Costco- Easy and Affordable. And, don’t get me wrong- I LOVE COSTCO! Unfortunately, many other people do, too, which means that you run the risk of using the same template that 50 of your closest friends may choose! Today, I am going to give you a list of some other options to try this year if you feel like branching out!…
