Our Babymoon
I thought it would be appropriate to write a post about family and babies, since this past Sunday was Mother’s Day.
Back in February we took a little family “babymoon” trip to the San Diego Zoo. We wanted to enjoy our family of three before baby #2 arrived to make us a family of 4. I was very grateful for a day to dote on just Elliana. I had a baby shower to attend in San Diego, so we made a day of it and took Elliana to the San Diego Zoo for her first time.
For the first 5 years of our marriage we lived very close to the zoo, so we would go all the time. We were excited to share a place that was so special to us with Elliana and make new memories.
It made the day even more special that we ran into some friends who were also celebrating their babymoon! They were kind enough to share a special adventure with me: feeding the giraffes. Giraffes are my favorite animal, and feeding them has been a dream of mine. If you ever have an opportunity to feed an animal at the zoo I highly recommend it.
Looking back now that baby #2 Hanna is here, I am so glad we took the time to celebrate our first baby girl, Elliana.
How have you celebrated your family before a new addition arrives?
