Celebrating the Pop

Six months ago the idea started forming to have a surprise 60th birthday celebration for my husband with the entire family. The day was planned, the picnics packed, the matching orange t-shirts put on by all. All four of our daughter and their husbands and kids were ready for the big surprise, 16 of us in all ( plus two awesome in-law grandparents to help out with the grand-babies makes a total of 18). We were coming from four different cities and one different country, gathering for a weekend of fun. I ran upstairs and woke up the slumbering Poppa and told him to shower and dress in the shirt provided and report downstairs at 7 am. When he came downstairs he realized we all had on matching shirts and he thought that was so cool. Into the car we piled and off we went. Disneyland was our destination. Close to 8 am we met up with the rest of the family and the surprise was complete! The “happiest place on earth” became the BEST place ever to celebrate a 60th birthday for the POP.
