Reveal Your Destination
This quote came up on my Instagram feed today and it was so perfect. I am working in my mentorship group with casting a vision for our lives. I’ve written out song lyrics, quotes, and words that inspire me and I plan to use these words to cast a vision for how I want to live my life.
In order to achieve our dreams we must be consistent in our daily actions and yes, FEARLESS!
So what sets your soul on fire?
What are you doing every day to get closer to your goals?
Are you doing every day what others are unwilling to do in order to achieve your dreams?
Here’s a challenge for you:
Write out your dreams. Be specific with your description and give it a destination. Look at it every day. Write what you need to do every day in order to achieve that goal or dream. When you reveal your destination-where you are going-you have a path to follow. Now make a plan to move forward on that path every day to make it to your destination!
Psalm 139:14-15 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your words are wonderful. I know that full well.” We were created for big things. God has a plan and a purpose for each of us. So knowing who you are (God’s perfect creation) and where you are going (casting a vision and a destination for your life) you can pursue “what sets your soul on fire!”
If you want more guidance on how consistent daily actions can impact your life read the book, The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson.
I would love for you to share a dream you have. Be specific. What is the destination when that dream becomes a reality?

This weekend we celebrate Memorial Day. Now we all might not have lost someone in war who is close to us or that we know of that has lost their life. We may not even know anyone that has fought in a war or served our country. But we can celebrate the day. We can still celebrate those lives. We can all share in the pride of our country. We can share in what it feels like to experience freedom. We can share in the gratitude and the respect for the people who have served, the families who have lost loved ones, the sacrifices that have been made.
So this memorial day. Celebrate. Remember. Think of those who have lost loved ones. Think about our country. Think about those that are serving right now. Remember our fallen heroes. Remember the men and women that went to serve. The ones who have won our independence. Don’t take what they have done for granted. Celebrate them. Remember them. And live with the gratitude of living in a free country. People had to make sacrifices. Be thankful for their strength. Be thankful for their endurance. Live thankful.
“Thus, the men and women we honor this Memorial Day are all those who have served this nation from its founding 239 years ago–since the Revolutionary War, we have lost 1,010,485 men and women in combat–as well as all those who defend us now against the threat of global terrorism.” (Dilenschneider, Robert; Huffington Post) As with the motto from September 11, Never Forget. Kids today didn’t live through September 11. They don’t know yet what our country means, what our freedom stands for. Never forget. Never forget by talking about it and remembering it. Talk about our Founding Fathers. Talk about the struggle of war. …

Working together as a family on our Growing Weisser Blog has been a dream come true for me. Experiencing the joy of being included in my daughters’ lives is a privilege that I cherish. I love working with my daughters. I love sharing our passions, our hopes, our joys as well as our sorrows and disappointments. Having a vehicle like our Blog to work out the growing pains of life: raising children, adjusting to the newlywed years, developing a consistent faith walk, decorating on a budget, mastering meal planning and deciding what to cook for dinner….has been a refreshing way to share our lives with one another and with you, our followers.
Growing Weisser has decided to add a new dimension to our blog site. We will be starting a new campaign called “WELLNESS WISDOM“.
One of the newest passions in our family is learning about Nutrition, Health and Wellness. Our Cooking Wisdom posts have always tried to offer alternative, healthier ingredient options and we will continue this. As we introduce our “Wellness Wisdom” campaign we will also be providing more information to you in the form of downloadables. The first of our printables will be available this week. Some of our other ideas for the future include printables with lists of anti-inflammatory foods, another with calcium rich foods, maybe some of our favorite smoothie add-ins.
We have also become increasingly interested in some of the newest fitness models. We will be sharing our favorite DVD fitness programs with evaluations and best prices. We will keep you updated to the newest trends in fitness that we try and love and others that we try and are not fond of. I had the opportunity to be mentored recently and it was a truly life changing experience. I wanted to encourage you to seek out your own opportunity to be mentored. It’s really simple: find someone who is successful and do what they do.
What areas of your life are you looking to improve? Do you want to be better at your job? Find someone in your field or at your place of work and find out what they do. Do you want to be a better spouse, a better parent? Find someone you admire and find out what they do.
What are the benefits of being mentored?
1. You will identify your strengths and weakness. By learning what your strengths and weaknesses are you can learn to celebrate your strengths and focus on improving your areas of weakness.
2. You will build belief in yourself.
3. Create a vision. Know that you can accomplish whatever you want sometimes you just need to know where you are going and how to get there!!
4. Identify distractions. You will learn what is keeping you from your goals and how focus and organization can get you where you want to be. Finding success is simple. Simple steps every day can get us to our goals. But these things are easy to do, and just as easy not to do.
5. Get to your WHY. Your why is what fuels you. A mentor will help you identify what motivates you and that WHY will keep you going when the going gets tough.
6. Get out of your comfort zone. Change and growth isn’t always easy, but it is good for us to see what we are capable of. A mentor can help us identify where we can grow and change as we learn new …

Ashkon and I just finished a 9-week study in Financial Peace University (FPU). FPU is Dave Ramsey’s principles of how to care for and handle your money in God’s way. We learned a lot about Emergency Funds, getting out of debt, investing, buying and selling homes and so much more! I loved that his teachings were based on the Bible and what God tells us about money! We finished our class with a lesson on giving. “The Great Misunderstanding”, as Dave calls it, is when we follow his steps and actually build wealth, we are prone to hold on to it more tightly. Antoine Rivaroli says, “There are men who gain from their wealth only the fear of losing it.” Our money is all God’s anyway and he asks us to give back our first fruits of 10% (even though it is all His already!!) Why does He ask us to GIVE? Dave says, “Giving moves you to become less selfish and less selfish people have more of a tendency to PROSPER in relationships and wealth. Because we are designed in God’s image, we are happiest and most fulfilled when SERVING and GIVING…You will never have financial peace until you learn to manage your money with an open hand.”
“Live like no one else now, so you can live like no one else later!” -Dave Ramsey
This process takes discipline. We have so many things being thrown in our faces that we are told we “NEED!!”. However, we show maturity when we learn to delay gratification and when we can not buy everything we WANT (not Need). I would encourage anyone and everyone to take this class! Whether you are young and just married and figuring out money or you are older and feel like you have your routine of …

Revived in Action
You know the moment… That one where you have been waiting for something to happen. You are hoping that someone else will make the effort. Someone else will plan, someone else will do, someone else will act. But you wait and wait, and it doesn’t happen. Getting together doesn’t happen. That phone call never comes. The days come and go. And that hope of whatever it is starts to dwindle away.
But the doubts creep in. Those feelings of should I do it? Could I do it? Is that all I’ve been waiting for? For me to get enough courage just to do it myself. Guess what. If you are having those feelings, that is probably exactly right. Just Do it. Call the friend, plan an outing, say you are sorry, confront an issue, go out of the way to reach out. Plan a party, clean your house, eat healthier, create good habits, and find joy in the little things. Take charge of your life. Stop waiting for someone else to do it, because, it will never happen. Go for it, take a risk, do something extraordinary. Ordinary breeds ordinary. Extraordinary comes from pushing the limts, being uncomfortable, and listening to those nudges that say “go for it”. As the saying goes, if you don’t do it, no one else will. And it’s true. We are all thinking the same thing. So bite the bullet, don’t let anything hold you back and whatever it is that is tugging at your heart or filling your mind, find the confidence, the time, or the purpose in going the extra mile or being intentional about your life. You have today to choose. So choose life, choose joy, and choose grace in the privilege to make a choice.
What have you …

I was so blessed growing up to have family living close by for most of my life. I have wonderful memories of spending time with my aunt and uncle and my grandmas and even my great-grandparents. The older I get and the more people I meet I realize that this is not the norm and I grew up very blessed.
It makes me so happy that my girls are also growing up really knowing their family. Even our family in Michigan has made the effort to come for visits. Although some of us are spread out, we try and make good use of technology and Facetime when we can. The girls love to be silly when we chat and run all around the house dancing and singing, often hanging up the calls accidentally with their kisses.
Last week we were thrilled to have my mom and grandma, Grammie Rozie, come for a visit. My Grammie Rozie is a wonderful grandma and just loves to learn, teach, do art, and read books. I am proud to say that these are many of my favorite things to do too! We had a wonderful time reading new books she brought to share and doing art projects.
We even took a fun trip to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park to see the annual butterfly exhibit. This was a real treat and if you haven’t been, definitely something to do next year!
The trip was a wonderful reminder about the blessing of family and the joy of sharing memories together.
Do you live close to your family? What do you like to do together? If your family is far away how to you keep in touch?
