Bekah’s Protein POWER!
Protein is essential in a healthy diet. Protein helps satisfy cravings and helps you stay full longer. I have tried a lot of protein powders, but this protein powder has become my “Protein Power”! It is by far the most delicious and has no artificial additives that leave me feeling sluggish, hungry too soon after or with a quick fix that does not sustain. Our protein powder has been a game changer in not only my health and daily routine but my family’s, as well.

Keeps me nutritionally balanced and keeps my blood sugar stable
Inexpensive, on-the-go meal
My husband loves it, too! It is the perfect meal for him to take to work for a quick lunch and gives him the nutrients he needs for his long days at the hospital!

I recently have had the opportunity to continue my desire for a healthy, fit lifestyle with some new, amazing nutritious products! I would love to share my story with you…Would that be okay?
In the last few years, I have had some big adjustments. I graduated college, finishing my 17-year softball career. I moved back home to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I got engaged and planned my DIY, tight budget wedding. I got married to the love of my life and a month later, we moved to the Caribbean. We spent our first two years of marriage there as he fulfilled his dream of becoming a doctor. We moved back to the United States to find out that we had been placed in California for his third year rotations…and all the details in between.
I loved getting to support and be apart of my husband’s journey to achieve his goal. I loved being back in California. I loved being close to family and my nieces and nephews. I loved being a wife. But, I was not fulfilled and I felt very lost in where my life was supposed to go next.
I was constantly waking up tired, I was sick more than I ever had been and I did not have energy to fulfill my to-do list each day. I struggled with finding my identity after college (other than being a med student wife), especially after being an “athlete” for my entire life. Exercise was still a huge priority in my life but, without the camaraderie of doing it with a team, I found it difficult to find the fun in it and was sore all the time. Lastly, I was overwhelmed, consumed, and felt very trapped by the debt that we were accruing …

You know those mornings that you wake up and you feel congested, as if you have pressure in your nose and eyes areas?? Well, that was me yesterday. I felt like my face was swollen and I would not stop sneezing. I knew that I wasn’t sick but I was in a new environment that occasionally makes my sinuses a bit crazy. I decided to get a juice blend at lunch- beet, Apple, ginger (lots of it), and a little bit of lemon. I almost instantly felt better! My sinuses were clear and my head no longer felt stuffy.
There are so many benefits from juices, such as anti-inflammatory components, aiding in digestion, clearing sinuses, and filling your body with healthy super foods in one drink!! And, with a good juicer, you can even try your own combinations!
A few of our favorite places that we have discovered for juice blends are La Vie which can be found and tasted at the Danville Farmers Markets on Saturday mornings, Pressed Juicery which we found in Southern California (but coming soon to Walnut Creek!) and our favorite restaurant, Ki’s!!
Here are my top 5 juice blends that I have tried:
- Inspired from “Roots 3” from Pressed Juicery and “The Bite” from Ki’s—Beets, Apple, Ginger, Lemon — can aid in digestion and tastes DELICIOUS!! This is my personal favorite 🙂
2. “Greens 4” from Pressed Juicery
Cayenne, Cucumber, Celery, Ginger, Lemon, Watercress
High in antioxidants!
3. “Fire Fighter” from La Vie
Coconut water, filtered water, fresh turmeric juice, fresh ginger juice, fresh lime juice, raw local honey, organic coconut palm sugar, organic cayenne.
Full of kick with lots of turmeric, giving it a anti-inflammatory components that takes great!
4. “E3 Live Cocktail” from La Vie
Apple juice, organic blue green algae, …
Read More5 Ways to Reorganize Your Life for a New School Year
The new school year is upon us and is coming fast – or for some…has already started!! For those of you who still have some time, here are 5 ways to get reorganized after a busy summer to be ready for the new school year! And, if you have already started, get on these tips before your new schedule gets too busy and hectic!
1. Buy a Planner!
A planner will really help you stay organized with appointments, lunch dates, kids sports practices, church events, etc.
My favorite places to get planners are Target, The Container Store, and Barnes & Noble. Each of these stores has all different types and sizes to find exactly what you need. Amazon is also a great place to look for different styles of planners!
I would also recommend getting your kids their own planners. I used a planner from a young age for school and it helped me immensely stay organized and on top of all my school tasks and homework. I definitely would not have been as successful at school without a planner! I always liked having a larger size planner for school to have plenty of room to write down all my assignments and upcoming tests. This one is fun, too, because you can personalize the front with a name, pictures and other stickers! (Laminate with contact paper once finished)
2. Go through clothes that don’t fit OR sell or donate clothes that are tired/won’t wear anymore to make room for some new school year clothes shopping!
It was always fun to get a new first day of school outfit or a few new staples for a new year of school. Having a special day to go shopping can be a great incentive to clear some space in your kids closet! And, …

“Fear, in any form, is crippling and life threatening. But we must realize that fear does not come from the Lord. And if we entertain that fear, we are rejecting the peace and protection we have been given through Christ.
Where do you see/feel fear creeping up in your life? Is it in your job, your marriage, are you afraid for your kids? Or maybe you’re afraid to chase after your dreams and take a leap of faith?
Whether or not you pray or read a Bible, I encourage you all to read through theses mental shifts on how to overcome fear. Say them outloud whenever you feel fear sneaking up on you, and commit to no longer being controlled by it!!” – Lori Lasco
Though we might not always be fearless, by praying specifically for qualities found in God’s Word, we can fear less. If you’re battling fear on any level or in any area of your life, I’d like to invite you to do the same.
Instead of praying that fear will be far from us, we can ask God to give us strong, bold and courageous hearts (Joshua 1:9)

Are you bored by your schedule and routine? Are you in a rut? Sometimes all you need is to get outside or get out of your routine to get a little refreshment! Here are five fun (maybe NEW) ideas to do just that:
1. Try a New Activity with Friends
A few friends and I have recently been planning to attend a “Paint Nite.” There are paint studios all over where you go and get a step-by-step process to all paint the same picture (and it usually includes wine which is a bonus for many!). We are really excited to go be crafty, spend some quality time together, and try something new – and we get a canvas painting out of it, too! Rachel recently tried the “Ladies Night Out” at her local rock climbing gym with friends! There are so many fun, inexpensive ways to find refreshment.
“Learning something new is a fabulous way to be refreshed. When work can grind you down, something about learning a new activity thrills the soul. It reminds you that the world is bigger than your desk and your to-do list.” John Ortberg
2. Go on a Date somewhere you have never been!
Try that new restaurant you have always been wanting to go to; Find a local, free activity; Go somewhere in the city you have never been; go to a movie in the park; find a yoga event in the park; go to a new exercise class with your spouse or find a video online (try YouTube!)
Join a Yoga Challenge! We are currently doing #BackToBackbendsChallenge on Instagram with @kinoyoga @beachyogagirl and @aloyoga for the month of July! Find the challenge on my profile @bekahb623 to join!
3. Go on a Walk, Run, Hike or Bike Ride; Go to a new …

Read MoreLessons Released
My husband and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary yesterday, so marriage was definitely on my mind – looking back on our favorite memories from the year, having conversations about what we want for this next year… I reread an email last night that I received from FamilyLife with a Happy Anniversary message. The top suggestions for marriage that they shared from couples who have been married a long time were CELEBRATE, FORGIVE, and KEEP GROWING TOGETHER! It continued on with Dennis Rainey, the President, CEO and co-founder of FamilyLife, and his 40 years of marriage. When Dennis’s and, his wife, Barbara’s 40th anniversary occurred, he decided to create his list of “40 Lessons for 40 Years of Marriage.” These lessons are so important and vital to a strong, God-centered marriage. They include keeping God #1 in your marriage, praying together, forgiveness and more! Below are the Top 10 Lessons – the link for the full list of “40 Lessons From 40 Years of Marriage” is at the bottom of the article. These are life lessons I want in my marriage to create a strong foundation for our family, to edify one another, so we can continue celebrating for years to come!

40 Lessons From 40 Years of Marriage
Four decades ago, I married Barbara Ann Peterson. Looking back now on the first 12 months of our marriage, I’d have to describe myself then as an idiot—repeatedly ignoring the dignity of the woman that God had brought me.
But after six children, 19 grandchildren, and decades of married life, I’ve learned some things. I think of them as 40 lessons from 40 years of marriage … and family … and life.

Modify Ink – Allowing a Creative Release For All Types REVIEW
A couple weeks ago, I wrote a post about an amazing company that we discovered at Build Your Blog Conference 2015 named Modify Ink! I just received my order yesterday – “US Map” – and the product is such great quality! The colors are bright and vibrant, which I love! The process is fun, too! Once I chose the design that I wanted, I was able to customize all of the colors with solids, patterns, bright and muted colors; there were so many options! I could also customize each individual section of a print. I decided to stay simple with a coral background and off-white text. I love how it turned out! I feel like, even though I wasn’t the one who created the design, I still had a part in creating the artwork! Here is a picture of my final print!
I am planning to frame my print and use it to mark the places my husband and I travel to in the United States! I am excited for my print and my new project, as well as, using Modify Ink for future decor! Great artwork, easy to use, and an amazing, innovative idea taking digital print images to a higher standard!

It’s time to release the idea that YOU ARE NOT AN ARTIST! You may not be able to paint, your idea of a self-portrait may be a stick figure, or your clay lion may look like a worm. But it doesn’t matter because with Modify Ink EVERYONE can be an artist!
“We want everyone to
have the ability to customize art, to create
art, to collect art, and to love art.” -Modify Ink…
