Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me,
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind but now I see.

I was inspired by a sermon that I heard a few weeks ago. The pastor was sharing his teaching on Psalms 66 and was emphasizing all the AWESOME things that God has done as expressed by the Psalmist. God has done amazing things for ME, for US-the corporate church and for EVERYONE.
My favorite take away points were that Jesus knows me by name and He desires to meet my every need. He listens to my prayers and answers them according to what is best for me. I am forever grateful for His faithfulness to me and my family. I am passionate about giving God all praise and glory for the amazing things He has done for me personally. Since the beginning of time, God has done amazing things for US-His people; the Israelites in the Old Testament and the corporate church in the New Testament. He provides and protect His own.

The most insightful aspect of the sermon was the comparison of common grace and amazing grace. God does amazing things for EVERYONE. Common grace is provided by God for EVERYONE. Many people give generously, do wonderful things to help the poor and the needy and are kind to others, as a result of God’s COMMON GRACE. AMAZING GRACE incorporates all the aspects of COMMON GRACE with one stipulation added in. Amazing grace is the willing act of God to provide His only Son to pay the price for all sin for all mankind for all time. Amazing grace supersedes common grace. Amazing grace is available to those who are willing to accept the free gift of the sacrificial death of Jesus as their Passover lamb. Jesus, the one who lived and died, was resurrected and appeared to many.
Romans 10:13 says “whoever will call on the name of The Lord will be saved”. My passion is to be a light to the world in my attitudes and actions so that I will reflect the amazing things that God has done for me and my life will draw people closer to accepting God’s AMAZING GRACE for themselves.

Matthew 5:14-16 says “you are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden, nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before all men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify Your Father who is in heaven.”

The AMAZING GRACE of God is available to everyone! What are your thoughts about God’s AMAZING GRACE?
